ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE passes (Including English Language and
Mathematics) or

Five (5) GCE O-Level passes (Including English Language and

Five (5) GBCE (RSA II) passes (Including English Language and
Mathematics) or

Mature Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must
show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of
date of birth which is five (5) years old at the time of application. And must
pass a written test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to
be conducted by the Koforidua Technical University.
GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR TWO (2) YEAR TERTIARY DIPLOMA
PROGRAMMES
a) SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
Passes
in three (3) WASSCE) or D (SSSCE) in core subjects including English and Core
Mathematics PLUS two credit passes in relevant elective subjects.
b) O‟LEVEL/GBCE AND A‟LEVEL/ABCE APPLICANTS
Five
passes in O‟ Level/GBCE including
English Language and Mathematics
c) Technician/Certificate II Applicants
Technician
Applicants must have relevant Technician Certificate (Part I or Part II) from
recognized higher institutions.
d) Certificate II Applicants Applicants
Must
have passes in six (6) relevant subjects comprising three (3)core subjects
including (English Language, Mathematics, Integrated
Science/Social Studies/Entrepreneurship), plus three (3)
passes in relevant subject areas.

Must be at least 25 years at the time of application.
·
Must have 5 credits at the GCE „O‟ Level, including
English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three Elective
subjects at the SSSCE/WASSCE level.
·
Must provide documentary evidence of relevant work experience
·
Must pass a Departmental examination and interview
Must
pass a scheduled Mature Applicants Entrance Examination and interview. 3. Must
provide documentary evidence of at least two (2) years relevant working
experience.

Board for Professional and Technicians Examinations (NABPTEX) has designed an
access course for Technical/Vocational Institute graduates into HND Programmes.

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR
4-YEAR B.TECH PROGRAMMES
i) SSSCE Applicants
Passes
(A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and
Integrated Science; and must possess three (3) passes in relevant elective
subjects. The cumulative aggregate must be 24 or better.
ii) WASSCE Applicants
Credit
passes (A1-C6) in three core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and
Integrated Science; and must possess three (3) credit passes (A1-C6) in three
relevant elective subjects. The cumulative aggregate must be 18 or
better.
(iii) GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Applicants
Applicants must possess six (6) GCE ‘O’ Level passes including
English Language, Mathematics plus three (3) GCE ‘A’ Level passes in the
relevant courses.
iv) Applicants from Technical Institutions
Applicants
from Technical Institutes must possess passes in Mathematics, English Language,
and Integrated Science plus passes in relevant elective courses.
Applicants
from Technical Institutes with the requisite elective passes without passes in
English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science may be admitted to a two
(2) month intensive bridging (pre-degree) programme before formal admission to
their programmes of choice after passing selection examination.
v) HND Applicants
·
Higher National Diploma with the requisite specialization will
enroll at level 300.
·
Applicants with university Diploma in the relevant subjects will
enroll at level 300.
·
Ordinary Technical Diploma (OTD) will enroll at level 200.
vi) Applicants with Technician Certificate
Applicants
with passes in Motor Vehicle Technicians II (MVT II) may also be considered for
admission and will be enrolled at Level 200.
Applicants with passes in Motor Vehicle Technicians III (MVT
III) may also be considered for admission and will be enrolled at Level 300.
·
Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old at
the time of application and must show proof of age with
birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which
should be five (5) years old at the time of application.
·
Must pass a written
test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be conducted by
Koforidua Technical University.
·
Applicants within
the field of Engineering must have obtained a pass at MET I, MVT I, EET I, CTC

GCE ‘O’ Level,
SSSCE/WASSSCE Applicants must have obtained passes in English Language,
Mathematics, and any two subjects in a related field of specialization.

Must have at least
one-year working experience in a related field (A letter from employer is

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HND PROGRAMMES
SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
·
SSSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in three
(3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated
Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the
passes relevant to the area of specialization.
·
WASSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D7) in
three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated
Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of
the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
·
Alternatively, SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants with passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in three
core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated
Science/Social Studies; and a minimum of D/C6 in any two (2) of the passes
relevant to the area of specialization are eligible to apply.
GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL/ABCE APPLICANTS
Five (5) GBCE /GCE‘O’-Level credit passes (including English Language and Mathematics) plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ level/ABCE passes
excluding General Paper.
APPLICANTS FROM TECHNICAL SCHOOLS (CERTIFICATE II APPLICANTS)
Applicants must have passes in three (3) subjects including
English Language and Mathematics and Integrated Science plus three (3) relevant elective subjects/trade
courses.
DBS APPLICANTS
Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English and
Mathematics plus at least three (3) passes
in relevant DBS subjects.
TEACHER’S CERTIFICATE.
Applicant
must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’
with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus three (3) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes in
relevant elective subjects.
MATURE APPLICANTS
·
Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old at
the time of application and must show proof of age with
birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which
should be five (5) years old at the time of application.

HOW TO APPLY FOR KOFORIDUA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS
Applicants
can only apply online via Koforidua Technical University online application
portal. The procedure is as follows:

Ghanaian Applicants
for HND and Non-HND programmes are to make a payment of One Hundred and Fifty Ghana
Cedis (GH¢150.00) and B’Tech applicants are to make a
payment of One Hundred and Sixty Ghana Cedis (GH₵160.00) for the Koforidua Technical University On-line Serial
Numbers (OSN) E-Vouchers at Koforidua Technical University Campus – Cash
Office or at any Republic Bank, Agricultural Development Bank
(ADB), Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Universal Merchant
Bank, Prudential Bank, Fidelity Bank branches throughout
the country.

Foreign Applicants can
purchase On-line Serial
Numbers (OSN) E-Vouchers online by visiting www.ktu.edu.gh/applyonline using
any VISA Card enabled for online purchase at the cost ($50.00).

Applicants can also
purchase admission voucher with MTN Short Code by dialling *700*88# and
follow the procedure below:

Enter Name or Alias

voucher to purchase. (The name and the amount are displayed)

Enter MoMo PIN to
Authorize payment

The voucher will be

4.
Access the Online
forms by visiting our online application portal at http://applyonline.ktu.edu.gh after payment.
5. When completing the on-line forms, applicants will be required
to upload their passport size photographs and result slips/certificates. Note:
Photographs must be on a white background.
6. Applicants awaiting results are eligible to apply.
On-line applications should be submitted not later than Friday, January, 30, 2021. However, deadline for
mature applications is January 22, 2021.
